Submission to Review of State Taxation (NSW)

Prosper Australia's submission to the Review of State Taxation conducted by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of New South Wales (IPART) was lodged on November 23, and was acknowledged on November 27. The HTML version is available on the author's website. A PDF version, apparently prepared by IPART from the author's HTML version, appeared with the other submissions on IPART's website on November 27.

The Introduction states:

As an association specializing on tax reform, writing a submission to a Review of State Taxation, Prosper Australia (www.prosper.org.au) has two options:

  • Propose the purest possible implementation of our ideology at State level, in the hope that rigid adherence to principle makes acceptable politics; or
  • Propose a scheme that would increase gross State product and distribute the benefits in such a way that there would be winners but no losers, so that the Government has no possible economic or political excuse not to implement our scheme.

We have chosen the latter...

P.S. (December 3): The submission is further discussed in the editorial of Issue No. 2 of Alternative Economic Review.
